GAYPIN’

B R A N D I N G + D E S I G N

SUMMARY

I developed the GAYPIN’ brand in 2017 with my co-founder, Dustin Griffes. Enamel pins were making a comeback and although we loved the trend taking over, at the time we couldn’t find pins that were quite queer enough for us. So we decided to make our own! Our pins, patches, and other accessories are now sold in over 30 stores worldwide. We’ve been featured on BuzzFeed, Mic.com, and Pride.com, have been spotted on CNN during the 2019 democratic primary debate, have collaborated with some of our favorite drag artists of all time, and most importantly have built a community online who we’re really proud to make incredibly fun LGBTQIA+ inspired accessories for.

BRANDING

If you haven’t yet noticed the pun in our name… surprise! From the start wanted the brand to not take itself too seriously. We wanted our pins to be silly and flamboyant and gay AF, so I decided to keep our logo mark simple and let the pin designs really shine.

PRODUCT DESIGN

When I design products for GAYPIN’ my mission is to try to create the gayest things I’ve ever seen. I want our designs to be unapologetically queer and proud. Some might be more subtle than others, but there’s always something silly and sassy poking its head through in a GAYPIN’ product.
